How did J. Cole do this?

Studio Session: J. Cole Breaks Down The Production For "Power Trip" - YouTube

So I was watching this video of how J. Cole produced Power Trip and around 4:49, he starts talking about how he slowed down a snare to get that unique sound that's heard throughout the beat. Does anyone know how he did this? In Ableton, I'm aware of transposing samples, which would slow down the sample, but obviously change the pitch. Is what he did to the sound similar to transposing it? Or is it something different? And is it possible to slow down a sound/sample without altering the pitch?

I'd assume he's just saying he pitched it down. Could've also time stretched it, but a similar sound can easily be acheived just pitching down the right snare. he was using Logic(before X), so i doubt he did much more than pitch it down.

Didn't rewatch, so I could be way off. Saw this like a year ago, but going by drunk memory.
