How do you guys go about doing this? it seems like if you do it up front you can been seen as a hard nosed untrusting stiff. If you don't, or do it super late you can seem sloppy and ignorant about the business.......How do you ease it in?

how can you feel untrusting???
either you do business or you don't
you can be in the music business
or you can just be making music because you love it and you don't care about money, credit

split sheets should never be seen as untrusting

it should be seen as business protection for both parties from each other and other parties that may want to steal from the first two parties

I don't see where this mentality comes from... I chalk it up to be non-professional

and never bring anyone into the studio that shouldn't be there
singer/songwriter/melody/instrumentalists/producer/executive producer

no homies,girlfriends,friends,cousins,sisters and brothers
only ppl that should be there are the music professionals do professional music for release to sale/promotion a album/mixtape
