FL Studio Limiter

Any FL veterans have any thoughts about the fruity limiter? My thing is that since it is on by default, i always kept it on, and back in the day whenever i turned it off, my tracks came out with distorted bass, so i never bothered turning it off ever again. But some people have been telling me some of tracks sound too compressed, i couldnt figure out what the problem was and with my latest track i think i figured out that my bass kicks are being dampened out by the fruity limiter.

I would like to hear how you guys use fruity limiter, if at all. I only raised cieling and gain by a little and my track sounds much better, without any distortion.

not a vet but i set mine to 1 db so i dont distort but some say turn it off but its up to you

i always had it off, just be careful on your levels and you should be fine

A limiter is a strong compressor, everything towards threshold arround -10 is limiting. It limits the output signal so it can´t be to strong.
Nomaly u mix the song gentaly (limiter off). And finish it by gaining the loudness with the limiter compressor eq and so on.
