Sound to vision software

Hi all! Does anybody know of any software which will take an input (of music) to the computer soundboard and convert it to moving (psychedelic?) images in real time? Any help greatly appreciated.

Well I think Microsoft MEDIA PLAYER 7 (or 8... the latest version) has dozens of effects like this. Also Winamp and its plugins.

these are not "designed" for this kind of application only, theya re Media players basically (ie playing any sound or video file) but they do have this stuff int heir features. The microsoft player is quite cool as it is easy to install and comes with all these effects.

I think there is a way to display the visualization fullscreen. at least Winamp does fullscreen easily.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I was already aware of the possibility to achieve this using Winamp/Sonique/Media player etc and have experimented with these (to my mind Sonique is best), but they are quite crude for my purposes. Now, I know that specialized software exists (I saw a media announcement some time ago which stuck in my mind) but I have no idea what it's called or where to get it. With a bit of luck someone else will have some idea of where to get this software.

FLASH - why didn't anyone think of this import the audio in to Flash and make ur own movie

Adobe premier - high end video editing/making software, well u can do all sorts to things with, if u have Digital camcorder and firewire its all urs :) move over David Lynch
