trouble with logic x

Ok im having a little trouble and ive spent days trying to figure it out. But i just bought a new Axiom61 that im using as a controller for logic pro x. so if i open a new session in logic the axiom61 works fine no problems whatsoever recording and everything. now ive been incorporating my mpc into a lot lately. but my problem is that if i start a new session in logic by tracking say drums out or any audio tracks. when i go to create new software instrument, lets say a piano the axiom 61 turns off as soon as i try recoding. so i can track drums out and record them into logic just fine from my mpc2500le. but when i try to record back inside the session with logics sounds and the axiom as my controller the axiom just turns off. i turn it back on and it does same thing. its like as soon as i play first note it powers off .. any suggestions?

Does the Axiom actually power off? Or just stop sending MIDI into Logic?

Do you have the different instrument tracks setup to take MIDI on different channels from the separate MIDI devices? Or are you on MIDI omni mode?

Let me know, I can help you.
