best midi interface?

hello,

I'm thinking of buying a new midi interface for usb in the near future. I'm looking for a midi interface that supports at least 4 independent midi out ports.

What are your experiences with your midi interface?

I saw on the internet the following gear:
Steinberg Midex 8
Midisport 8x8 (midiman)
Emagic AMT 8
Emagic MKII

are they good?
any other suggestions?

THANKS!

I don't have direct experience with the 8x8 but I can tell you that the Midiman is a no-brainer.

I bought the 2x2USB, plugged it in, loaded the drivers and it worked with no problems whatsoever. Zero issues.

I use the Motu Express XT. 8 in 8 out

They just released 2000/XP drivers for it too and they are quite stable which makes me really happy.

It comes in both paralell and USB flavors and sells for around 300 USD.

I have used one for two years straight now and it has NEVER let me down. If you have more questions feel free to ask.

peace,

fitz

I got the emagic 2x4 one recently. No problems with it yet, but I haven't used it heavily yet.

Great guys!

I know a lot more about those interfaces,
if you have more let me know!

Important issues are: drivers for 2000/ME, good timing, idependant ports, price and overal quality.

Ok the next question of course is:
what software do you use with your interface?
Cubase? Logic? Cakewalk?
