Are white producers making Hip Hop better?

i think they bring a different view on hip hop production. white people and black people hear music differently i think. All my white friends hear a song and dumb out over a melody. How many black people you know that get excited about melodies? Of course excluding musicians and producers from this mix.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this

white ppl and music are funny..they either have absolutely no rhythm at all or they make fire ass beats..I don't think I've ever heard a medicore white artist/producer..they're either wack as all hell or got some fukn heat

I'm from Eastern Europe and I'm trying to incoroprate some aound and music from the old country.

Ah ok Rome..

That's the spirit Coop. Get me back.

I'll admit again that Johnny Juliano has some Fire ass beats... but they are nothing near Alchemist's ish. Sorry dawg. It looks like you took a popular style Johnny and ran with it. Alchemist shyt is some shyt that the legends would want to jump on...

Even his new shyt. Hate to say it... but this is CORE REAL SHYT... not flava of the "few" months. Not a dig at JJ, just saying. Rakim, Kane, Cube, Face probably would want this beat...

If your head don't nod, probably should find a new genre... Alchemist is the best white producer, not Storch, Rotem, Jonsin, Em or anybody else... NO MIMIC, NO GIMMICK.... REAL.

Oh hell yeah! Eastern Europe in the house LOL

But yeah, I would also say that melody is the "hit or miss" factor for me. But if the drums ain't knocking, it would still be a mediocre track IMO. These two MUST compliment eachother for me to be able to say "this is that FIRE".

The best white producer back in the day was Storch IMO. Haven't heard from him in a while though, but some of his latest tracks were plain wack.

Storch was just the most "popular".

Trickin' off his money on Lil Kim, trying to be the producer version of a rap artist... shyt caught up with him.

Producers don't get to tour... somebody text that to Storch.

Nah, I liked how he used those Middle Eastern melodies. I also like to listen to Bosnian music, and "Lean Back", "Candy Shop" etc reminded me of that genre.

I like Ev's beats better than Alc's...I was never really feelin Scott Storch's beats

This thread is stupid.

As for sample based producer (which is the traditional way of hip hop production)...there are cats like kno, alch and stoupe...all white...all top elite producers. Easily as good as guys like RZA and DJ Premier.

btw this thread is stupid.

It should: it uses the same scales. Those Eastern-European sounding scales and Middle-Eastern scales are what he used quite a bit.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gypsy_scale (not trying to offend with the word gypsy)
