I'm a Muslim too (Sunni). I think the question's been answered but i'll throw in my thoughts. Music ISN'T haraam. Music is even used in Islamic "songs" called Naata (Plural) or Nasheeds. Instruments are used a lot and the music is usually really melodic and relaxing. Music is thought by some Muslims to be wrong because of what it can do. Like the Nasheeds with relaxing music, they can heavily influence people because they're relaxing and because of the messages.

Pictures, photos, paintings etc are also thought to be wrong by some people if they portray life especially humans. Some people (crazy people) think that drawing people is symbolising creating them which is obviously wrong. I went to an Islamic mosque to learn when i was younger. My cousins went to the same mosque after i'd stopped going and sometimes said some crazy stuff that they were taught there. Such as you can't draw human eyes but it's okay to draw people. Or if you back-bite you'll have to eat your brother's back when you're punished in hell. I told them how crazy that was. I mean what did your brother do?

And Napolean's a hypocrite. I went to one of his speeches here in Bradford about a year ago because i was excited about seeing a rapper in person and because i was really interested in what he'd have to say.

His main message was "Don't try to be a gangsta like i was. Don't be like us." He kept saying how he was really rich and famous when he was a rapper and how him and Tupac were some real gangstas. The guy was just a rapper but kept bigging himself up like it was something to look up to. The reason he's doing these speeches is to get paid. They have picutres of a gun on the poster, blood and a big tagline saying something like "Napolean of The Outlawz. Tupac's rap group".

The guy wasn't rich or famous at all. Most people who know of Tupac and The Outlawz don't know who he is. He was only in i think 4 songs in total.

And i read up on him after the speech. Apparently he tried making an album even after he reverted and went to do Hajj. The album was shelved and i think he was dropped from his record label so he decided to get money from other means.

I actualy put this question forward at the speech. Mine was picked out of a hat or box or something. I asked do you think music is haraam and is that why you quit? The guy beat around the bush but said that he believes it is because it influences people. Some people make bad music so music is haraam for Muslim's. And he quit because he thought by carrying on as a rapper somewhere dopwn the line he would get pulled back into his old way of life.

So MUSIC ISN't HARAAM, he just said it is because he's ignorant. Not all music encourages or preached haraam behaviour. And music alone can't make people do stuff. I've listened to my share of music about killing, drugs, money and women but i haven't done anything haraam because of it.

And keep in mind that he's only been a Muslim a short while. How can the guy have read, studied, interpreted and thought about everything in the Qur'an to come to conclusion like this in such a short amount of time? What he preaches is what he's told by some extremist Muslim's. Maybe he doens't even believe some of the stuff he says himself.

And the guy was acting like a prick when he was there. I saw him walk in and he stood waiting like a diva when the guy before him went on couple minutes longer than planned. Then when he was finished he left. In a big limo. Didn't even wait 30 minutes to actually talk to the people there in person.

And like i said his main message was "Don't be a gangsta like i was". The only reason he gets people is by saying how rich and famous he was. How he was a really big gangsta and had everything he wanted. And he uses Tupac and The Outlawz names to sell himself.

The way I see it some Muslim country's are a bit backwards, don't mean that in a disrespectful way, I mean backwards as in they don't move forward with the work, with things like women's rights the world is changing.

In Ireland the Catholiic church plays a big part, they used to pay a bigger part, when my mom wanted a devorce she had to leave the country. But things have progressed the Church doesn't have as much say in government, and I think thats important. As well as religious institutions realising that things that were relevant a hundred years ago or even last week may not be relevant today.

I don't agree with all what wiki say but here is an Example. Allah doesn't mean God persay, because God there is no word in Arabic to define Allah. God is Dog in reverse, and it's Anglo Saxon so it can't mean Allah. The word Allah Existed before Muhammad was born. Proof? His father was named Abdullah meaning "Servant of Allah". Allah existed at least 6,000 years before Muhammad came aboard. Men have used it right then took it and made mockery of it and Muhammad came and restored it back to his proper place meaning The Creator, the Hidden one, the Strong one!

The word Allah derives from the Arabic word Al-iLah,(Allah) which means deity or Creator, the Strong one, equivalent in english. The tri literal root for the word Allah is Alif, Lam, Ha. For me I don't see how one can bend the rule of their faith, it is what it is, what happens is men/women are fraudulent and contradictory to what they say they believe and what their faith say. Take for instance, the Bible leviticus 11:7 tells Christians not to eat pork. Christians are the biggest advocates of eating and selling pork in the US. Yet if you tell them their scriptures they will tell you "Jesus said ........" If you know the scriptures there is not one single place where Jesus said one can eat pork, I DARE ANYONE TO SHOW ME! As a matter of fact, Jesus ate, Honey Comb, and fish and never touched swine. Second Jesus himself said to follow the Commandments and not to BREAK THEM! so if you show them this and they are still in deniel you leave them alone because THEY THEMSELVES BENT THEMSELVES not the rule. The Creator rules are simple and law and the law can't be destroyed. So it's people that bend not the rules my brother.

On the thought of Method man, I have had my run in with 5%er's and we build and by the time i finish with them, they see me in a whole different light because I give facts and truth. Take for instants, they claim the bible says the green earth is good for you. Ok but it didn't say to SMOKE IT! So one day a 5%er ran that crap on me so I said "oh is that so"? So I grabbed a leaf off a tree and told him "here wrap that ish up and smoke it, it's green and part of the earth right"? His own boys laughed because at that time they knew now what he said was ridiculous. Because he was use to smoking what was laced with embalming fluid and all types of stuff they put on weed to get one high. if you smoke weed naturally you wouldn't get high and why do they pick out a specific plant to smoke, why not all green trees? it's because they are fooling themselves. Weed smoking is a drug! period! I told him he is a drug addict and he is no better than anyone esle. Then I broke down the science of the lungs, basically our lungs are not made to inhale smoke, you are to breath in oxygen and exhale. Intense smoke to the lungs can cause a disease effect and it's NOTHING NATURAL ABOUT SMOKING AT ALL AT NO TIME!

I understand your concept but you have to riddle me this, how can you say you understand on one hand there is a Big God and you are small god with a lil "g"? There is only one Creator, I don't use the term God because that's Anglo Saxon terms and if you reverse God you get Dog. I don't deal with THEIR ways of telling OUR STORY and using THEIR words to difine US. Feel me? So When Allah says he Created man as a VICEGERANT of the earth that's our title Man, NOT GOD OR God, or god. A vicegerant is one who is empowered to act as a substitute in the absence of their superior. Being Allah is our superior and put us here as MAN/WOMAN to have dominion over the earth, that's what we are, MAN AND WOMAN, and the Original man and woman. That's a high title right there if our people would tap into that and see how deep that is. No man can be Allah because if you claim you are Allah then I have the right to ask questions on you being equal to Allah and if you can't do Allah things then you would not be Allah.
