Forum virgin here so people will have to bare with me. lol. I've just switched from FL to Reason 5 to try something new and so far I think I'm going to like it. My question, being a noob to this software, is can you set things to start recording when you press a key on your midi controller? Like a "wait for input to record" function. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Don't think that's possible, but if timing is the issue you can set a pre-count which gives you a metronome click of one measure before it starts recording.

Just click the "Pre" button on the left side of the transport panel.

what he said unless your midi keyboard has a transport panel

open your reason operation manual and read the chapter on remote - if you want to assign a function to a key or a button on your keyboard then you can do it by following the guides in this chapter.
