Need help with buying good beatmaking headphones

Have an option to get beats by dr dre headphones for 200$ off some guy i know who works at best buy. Don't really know whats out there for headphones for beatmaking would like to hear suggestions. thx in advance.

For beats the beats are fine. The M50's are dope though for flat souding headphones.

I had some Sennheiser (280's I think) cans for about a year and some change and loved them to death. They had an "accident" recently and they're unrecoverable so, I'm going to replace them with the Denon AH-D2000's.
