Latency Issues

I have a Powermac G5 dual 2.3 ghz// 6 gigs of ram/ internal 1tb hd & 300 gb hd.
Now to my problem. I record and make beats in logic 9 and if im using to many vsts at a time I have latency issues, I get a message saying system overload. My question to the people who have experienced this issue is what did u do to resolve it besides replace the computer and is there additional hardware I can buy to prevent this from happening in the future. use less vsts, or use the same number of vsts on less things and then mix those things together w/o additional vsts to prevent latancy. ie: create an effect chain and use it for each sound so it will sound the same as if you had run all the sounds and vst's at once.

tl;dr -try other software, or upgrade. the computer cant keep up with your brain.

edit: the additional hardware you need to by besides replace the computer is replace the computer

Ok thanks my man I was afraid I would have to replace the computer...I guess I gotta save up for the mac pro 12 core
