Gross beat help

In gross beat I have created the automation clip for my effect however when I use the effect for some reason it distorts my audio as well. This doesn't happen during the part of the automation clip that the gross beat effect is not playing. In urgent need of a fix.
 
What are you automating? The on/off switch in the mixer? Also, what do you mean by distortion? Is is causing your audio to clip?

A picture, audio example, or video would help!
