I have recently started my journey in music production and need some clarification on a question.
When you use a compressor on an entire track the sound modifies its dynamics, while an eq acts on defined portions of the track, so on a macro level the distinction between these two plugins is clear to me. The problem arises if we are talking about small audio portions, such as when using a multi-band compressor or a de-esser, which act on the bands like eqs; in these cases the difference between the two procedures for lowering the sound eq and compressor is so clear?
