could i get away with buying used cheap desktop just for recording vocals?

Just curious because i am on a serious budget, like under $300 all i need for it to run is a cheap daw and be able to use my focusrite saphire pro 24,, could i just buy a cheap deak top and upgrade the sound card and hard drove?

Also what specs are neccesaary,, i tried looking in the sticky but couldnt find anything helpful to me,, any got any inpuy? Thx!

Just for recording vocals - pretty much anything will do. Audio recording isn't exactly CPU intensive.
