what kinda preamp you gonna use?

my go to mic is a Shure sm7b

one a the best mics in the price range hands down. google it for more info.

More specific about uses

Are you going to record only vocals?
Instruments? Ambient sounds?

What is your current audio interface/soundcard?

Different mics for different jobs.

OK, the AKG will need a preamp that is capable of providing phantom power, the Avantone won't.

However, both will need a preamp to interface into your computer/DAW.

Cabling would preferably be XLRF-XLRM and a length that matches your needs.

Too many preamps out there to recommend one without startinga religious war, so I'll leave that to others.
