A big "Oh No!" With a Sapphire Pro

I was looking forward to purchasing the Focusrite Sapphire Pro 14 and I did so this morning.

I hadn't read many bad reviews about it at all.
The only bad ones were of those BEFORE they fully supported
Windows 7 64Bit (Which is what I'm running)

I was looking to clear up my latency problems that I had with my Lexicon Omega, but I've added clicks and pops on top of everything. Actually, my Lexicon made no clicks and pops. .

With a Windows 7 64 Bit setup you have to run the "Legacy" drivers for your FireWire port. I've done all of that already.

I've installed different drivers from Focusrite company themselves.

I'm starting to think it's my FireWire port.
It's onboard - and its on a Gigabyte motherboard.

Anyone think purchasing a PCI FireWire card can lift my troubles?

Theres also this GOD awful screeching noise I'm receiving through my monitors. I've disabled any onboard audio drivers, muted microphones, etc. I received that same screech on my old USB mixer, but it wasn't that intense.

Might that be a result of a bad FireWire port too?
Because when I disconnect the port of course it doesn't sound like that anymore.

It could also be a "going bad" mobo. . .sigh*

Thanks for any help I can get!
