How is brass usually played?

Trying to emulate brass but having trouble...

I work in Fl Studio

What is brass usually layered with? (2 trombones 1 trumpet 3 tubas etc.)

And how is it usually played.
When are riffs and brass techniques used when playing a melody (mostly in like in oldies, Jazz etc.)

Can 1trumpet be chorded when playing live?

And watching live concerts and seeing them have like 6 trumpets players.
How would I emulate that if there all playing the same note and it sounds much fuller
but if I were to layer trumpets wouldn't that just make that one note louder???


I know I need much to learn about brass. :/
 
I dont know a lot but i remember reading to use power chords instead of triads. Just the tonic and the 5th instead of the while triad.
