It looks tight and everything but...

whats the purpose of them coming out with another mpc?

It looks like a blend of the mpc 2000xl mcd mixed with the 4000, lol

That looks tight and I'd get one just to toy with if I had the money to but I'm sticking with kontakt, as soon as FL6 comes out (support for multiple midi controllers at the same time) I'm getting the mpd16 for drums :cool:
 
There are plenty of threads that will inform you about the new MPC 2500. I am available to answer any questions you have about them.

They will go for about $1995. The current options are CDRW drive, Hard disk drive, and memory. There is an internal slot next to the memory slot that I have no idea what it would be used for. Akai has not made any comments about it. But it appears that some sort of expansion board may go there.
