Well I guess I should share something hey,
Try to avoid couplet after couplet. I know I, and alot of rappers have the tendency to write couplets almost exclusively because it keeps the beat and rhyme scheme moving. It makes for a boring listen however.
I try to look at my verse as 2, 8 bar segments noting to make sure to land a punchline/metaphor/somethin clever on bar 4 and 8
I fid most verses beyond 32 bars start to bore me. 16 is the average for a reason, unless your showcasing something avoid long verses.
That said I have a tough time making my verses sound "all part of one song", Laser on topic; but I do not like to repeat the same rhymescheme/flow as the previous verse and it seems to be leaving 3 verse songs sounding like "3 small songs seperated by the same hook".
Does anyone one have any advice on dealing with that? Or other tricks and tips pertaining to the title line?
