I want to see who here on FP are Vets or Current Military.

I was Army (IL National Guard), but I spent most of that time on active duty. I was mobilized in 03, and was forced to stay on active duty till late 07. I was stop-lossed. Medical discharged. I am a disabled veteran, 60% rated.

My Mos's were 14R (Bradley/Linebacker Crewmember), 14M (Stinger Missile Manpack), but I was mobilized as a 19D (Cavalry Scout).

My top rank was E-4 Corporal.

Enlisted during Desert Storm. US Army 95B/98B double MOS qualified 8 yr vet homie... Top Rank E-5 with A-NOC. Active Duty 6 yrs. w/ 2 yr. I was in the US Army. I joined at 15 years old on the delayed entry program. I knew I had to leave the small town I was in if I was going to be anything in life.

So after 10th grade, I basically just partied until I turned 18. The school work was no problem because I had studied hard enough throughout the years to get good at passing test... almost any test. I qualified for EVERY SINGLE job that was available in the Army. I wanted something computer related but all of those schools had started and I would have had to wait a year until the next classes started. So I took the next "HOT" thing... telecommunications. 74C.

I went to Fort Jackson SC, Fort Gordon GA, Korea, Ft. Lewis, WA, Frankfurt, GE and Ft. Huachuca, AZ

While in I went to

Columbia, SC / Augusta & Atlanta, GA

Seoul, Korea (WILD!)

The DMZ (stayed the night there... they played rap music over big speakers while it was pitch black dark - while they moved their tanks around)

Seattle, WA / Tacoma, WA & Portland, OR / Vancouver, B.C.

Paris, FR / Barcelona, Spain / Lloret De Mar, Spain / Switzerland / Austria / Franksfurt's Red Light District / Ocktoberfest / bunch of other stuff I was too loaded to remember

Phoenix, AZ / Tucson, AZ / Nogales, Mexico / California (driving)

been other places too... but the places can't compare to the people you meet in the military, lol. Straight fools.

I served in the US Army for 14 years. Went in as a Combat Medic (91B) at 17, then went to Ranger School and got out of Active Duty after 4 years. I stayed in the Army Reserves and went to college, in the reserves I became a 97B (Counter Intelligence Agent) and was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq got up to E-6 (SSG). After I got my Bachelors Degree, I received my Commission and went into the MP Corps. Back to Fort Leonard Wood (Where I went to Basic) and did MP Officers Basic Course.

I went back to Iraq as a 2nd LT. and served for 6 years as an Officer, making it to Captain before getting hurt pretty bad while deployed. I broke my back and disconnected my pelvis from my spine and had to have my spine fused in three places and they Medically (Honorably) Discharged me on Halloween 2008.

All in all, I wouldn't change anything, I will get O-3E Pay for the rest of my life (because if my injury) and the Army did a lot of good things for me! I am not glad I got hurt, I would have liked to do my 20, but that's the way she goes?
