Tricky sounds in loops

Hi!

All my favorite loops seem to contain a drum sound that plays normally, but then has a slightly higher pitch. I want to learn this technique, and the obvious first step was to transpose, but it doesn’t sound right. I’ve tried pitch shifting, formant changes, various band-pass filters, and more. ChatGPT suggested phase vocoder, but I haven’t had success with that yet. Could this effect been created using the Roland VP-9000? Whoever solves this deserves a Nobel Prize!

It’s probably something simple! Please see the link where I’ve isolated the sounds in two examples:

The higher-pitched sound is not necessarily a snare drum. It would certainly help to hear it in context (in a few of the beats you are hearing it in), rather than an isolated, high-pitched "CHKK."

Thank you for your response! On my page, there are examples from two loops. When listening to the sounds, it seems like it's done in the same way.

'High Low 1' is from this track (loop added at 0:27):

'High Low 2' is from this track:

I usually don’t have trouble figuring out what’s happening in productions, but this feels like black magic. What initially seemed like a simple pitch/tuning adjustment has turned out to be difficult to recreate.
