im a strict sample flipper and i wanna expand my styles and do a little just blaze... a little sample style and then a trance/techno style

if anyone can give me some info on how to make some hot ass synths, or where to find them please drop

i really wanna know how to get a synth similar to the bass used in "milkshake" ive seen it used in trance b4 and i kno theres a way to get it

uppin for help

I doubt you will get many replys unless you post some sort of link to the music in the future (I suggest an online record store like Planetxusa.com, or satelliterecords.com) We can't guess what the sound you want to recreate is.

I did some searching and it found this track at Satellite Records Tell me if this is what you mean.

I posted the "techno" version of that track, were you talking about that one or the original?

Think I figured it out, it is a midi moog with a distortion effect, and a huge compressor. I think they may have a chorus also on that bass. I can't recreate it easily, anyone willing to try?

yeah i wuz talkin bout that song itz called milkshake by kelis produced by the neptunes.. i never heard the techno one

i just kno i like that synth.... if anyone can reproduce it id really appreciate it

thx

it's basically a distorted analog synth sound.
find whatever virtual analog synth, do a slight detuning of the oscillators,
run it through some distortion. maybe use some slight lfo/modulating of the filters. do whatever chorus effects, etc. you want.
then layer it with your choice of subby bass.

seriously, the milk shake song is all triton presets.

That bell and bongos, is total "ethnic percussion" nothing changed at all.

theres alot of sound proccessing to get them bangin, but even the synth sounds are real close to some triton preset (that is no tweaking at all!)

ill have to look for the synth sound. but, if you got a triton and tweak just a little you can replicate that sound easy.

peace

yeah i dun have a triton cuz i dont need it for flippin samples, but i wanna move to it some day, if u can find that synth please do id appreciate it

the young rook, ive got a question for you.

what do you use to flip your samples? and what do you use with it? for like bass lines and adding your own stuff to it?

because im startin to sample more now (more than just one shots, like dj primo style). Ive really only focused on keyboard beats. Im tryin to figure out how i like to do my sample beats the best. Id like to know how someone else goes about it.

peace.

well i take old vinyls from my basement and raise tha pitch on em then just chopp'em up, record it wit cool edit pro 2.0 and then i just load tha samples into fruity loops and add my own instruments ova them.

if u can help find me those synths... i can help u sample

the neptunes probably did use a simple triton preset.
i was just explaining how to create that sound and possibly other sounds on your own.

The latest versions of fruity loops has a similar type synth. i think it's called the Wasp or something. You could also use VSTs like Novation V-station and pro-53 in FP as well.
