I am about to start distributing a beat CD to artists and record labels and want to incorporate an LLC so that all payments can go to that (and yes I realize that it may be a long time before I actually get paid). I live in New Jersey and naturally want to incorporate in New York (I'm guessing in New York county where Manhattan is located since that's where the record labels are). Is it a problem that I don't have an office address in New York city? From what I read online I think I need to have some NY address so that the Secretary of State can forward documents and processes to it. Is this true? Any help I can get is much appreciated.
