Sampled Songs and Digital Downloads

I was wondering if you still have to clear samples for songs that are digital download only like Itunes. I see alot of mixtape stuff on Itunes that have sampled beats and i no for sure that now all those beats had the sampled cleared.So i was just wondering if sample clearance still applies to downloads just like CD's.

Samples need to be cleared for any release of a song, whether CD, download, vinyl, cassette tape, etc.

most people aint clearin mixtape samples. most people even rap on other beats with samples and aint clearin it lol.
