there is no standard.
but
don't put more than 10 songs on a cd. if they want more they can always ask. I personally think 10 is too much
a mix is everything, if it isn't mixed right, don't send it.
don't send in 'works of progress'. true a beat is a work in progress, but what i mean is don't send in things that you are still working on.
don't use a sharpie or stickers. get the cds printed, or at least laserscribed.
have your contact info. (telephone, email, and name) on the cd. fyi myspace is not contact info, nobody wants to got to myspace to contact you.
nowdays people are looking for songs more than beats, having a beat reel is cool. but shopping songs is better.
and obviously copyright all your work prior to sending it out.
