A god in the UK? Is he..........?
Pimpmatik said:I'm tellin you..Gilles Peterson raves about him all the time,Radiohead requested his talents to remix some songs of their last cd.I have a friend who went to Europe and he had no idea how popular he was.
That_beat_aint_right said:I see. I never realised. If I went to any of my mates who are hip-hop heads and asked them if they knew of Madlib they'd not have a clue of what Im talkning about.
I share the same opinion, the Dr Octagon was dope but Kool Keith brought his A-game as the lyrics were insane....Chosen One said:LOL!!!!!!!! F*kin Automator? I own plenty of the guys records or co-produced and he doesn't even register on the radar screen! Underated maybey, but in the whole hiphop game, absolutely not. Opinions difer but that's far out LOL. Thats like saying the most underated 70's pop group was the Carpenters ahaha. Sorry bro but that's hilarious Automator is solid at best.
True...I first bought the doc oct instrumentals cd but when I when I heard Kool Keith and Sir Menelik on the original cd,I was blown away And I totally agree with you,Q-Bert's scratching was plain sick!!!Chosen One said:Right on, I'd agree with the Large Proff suggestion. He may or may not be the most underrated but one things for sure he doesn't get enough props for all the dope Main Source records. Also I forgot one J. Rawls, if anyone here has ever heard the Essence vol.1 it's a great album. Anyone digging 9th beats and such should pick up J.Rawls/ Lone Catalysts **** its dope.
Ohh yea good point Pimpmatik about the doc Oct album. I own all original vinyl from that record, LP's/12"s Automator came through with solid production, however Keith and SirMenelik carried that record, along with Q-bert's ridiculous scratching on Blue flowers.
