I use to think that the Ozone was the best for mixing and mastering. But recently using the host DAW plugins has also worked out pretty good for me. I think that it is mainly now all on personal preference.

The idea is to have a working and progressive knowledge of the fundamentals as well as some exceptional techniques. If one understands the detailed concepts of audio production in general, then learning a new audio production interface is just a matter of learning the interface of the software. Not all production platforms are the same, but knowing how to produce quality product translates to all platforms.
