Dwells is right - see a lawyer.
Incorporating can't "harm" you, but you do have to know why you want to be incorporated. But off the top of my head....
How could it benefit you:
- Limited liability. Meaning your assets are protected if you, or someone in your corporation does not meet the obligations of your business.
- Continuous life. Your corporation can outlive you, so you can leave a legacy.
- Great vehicle to raise capital.
But like Dwells says, great idea to talk to a lawyer, and there pretty easy to find. Also, talk to other SUCCESSFUL producers and artists who have incorporations. And like I always say, hit up a music conference if you want to really find the right people to talk to. Check this out if you have a free minute.
