Thanks for the cosign! I've been here for a long time and was recommending IK BEFORE I worked for them. If I didn't believe in IK's stuff I wouldn't be working for them. Try them out and you'll know what I mean, they sound amazing. I mean we make stuff that sounds amazing, still got to get used to saying that more and more.
Also I've been waiting on a phaser, chorus/flanger, tape saturation and tape delay from you guys. I surely thought you would have at least done tape saturation by now. Maybe you could collab with Massey. That would be sick.
I also have an algorithm I'm working on for analog saturation that fits a generic model and adapts to different devices. I need some raw data to work with though.

Even if he big-upped them before he worked for them... he's now contractually bound to them... so he has to be biased towards them because they sign his paychecks... Unless they are unlike any other company in the world (unlike Microsoft Apple etc.) who dismiss employees for disparaging comments about products... even if all their products sucked would he really be able to say it publicly without retribution from the company???? I dare say no... but anyway the smiley equals ribbing... dont be so sensitive fellas

^Everybody has a bias. I'm personally biased towards Studio One being the best DAW on the planet. I'm sure you have some biases too.
But there's a difference between bias and still giving good advice and recommendations. Of course Obi's not gonna bad mouth his company and is gonna push the products.... but he chose a good product to push lol. And he's not giving bad advice when he talks about some of IK's products being top notch. If he was giving bad advice.... there's too many engineers on here who would've shot it down already everytime he posted lol.
He also recommends other products (obviously moreso when IK doesn't have a solution for a particular type of tool) software and especially hardware, and has been doing so for awhile. It would be much different if he came to this board strictly b/c of IK... but he was here giving advice well before IK hired him. He gives good advice, regardless of the obvious bias. He's one of the reasons the BLA Auteur is on my gearlist for next year.

exactly even before he got the job with IK he used to tell people to get their stuff and there were other people posting here doing the same thing he does. I think that's why they hired him actually because he gives good advice we respect him here and most of the other IK reps would get flamed.

Is this the missing the point forum or something??? Would you take a Ford salesman's word that the Ford Mustang is a better car than a Chevrolet Corvette??? Or would you question his motives??? I dont know about you all but I would question his motives because he obviously has something to gain from you buying from his company instead of his competitor; regardless of how good their product is the probability that a representative of a company will misrepresent their product's value and quality is very high... and this is not a jab at ObiK on a personal level, its just fact that if you want the best opinion about a product you need to seek advice from someone who has no personal/business dealings with the company... an unbiased "onlooker" as it were... unbiased in this case meaning that they stand to gain or lose nothing from a positive or negative review....

I understand your stance in the argument. But its not that face value here...
Let's take your current example for instance. On a forum like this, (where engineers are just itching for reasons to devalue another's opinion as soon as they slip up....) if a Ford salesman came here and talked about the Mustang being better than a Corvette.... tens of users would swarm in and deny that claim. They'd tell the unbiased onlooker that its bad advice.... and then they'd recommend something else.
Trust me, i get your point, and id agree with you if it were a different situation. But in this type of forum environment, you're going to get shot down if you're giving bad advice. At least in this case, the advice is from someone who already has a good rep from previous insightful IK-independant posts, where in fact he's always recommended IK lol. Plus... he's not leading anyone astray.... b/c there's a few people agreeing about IK being awesome w/ a few of their products. So my point is... he would've been shot down by now completely if he was saying anything exaggerated
In general.... you're going to always feel hesitant when a salesrep is pushing their products.... but look at how many people have already agreed about IK? That should take away from the questioning. Who cares about what someones motives are.... the bottom line is "Is it a good product or not?". And that question's already been answered in this thread by others.
Here is case in point about getting shot down.... F of Deaf is already bringing up Native Instruments... probably IK's biggest competitor.

You are right in many circumstances I would. Obi has been a member since 2006. Way before he worked for IK. He was saying the same things about their products. That imo is the difference.

how so? N.I. offers more variety in products. IK does somethings better (like Amplitube over Guitar Rig) and NI does other things better (like Kontakt over SampleTank) they all make good products.

Are you saying that NI offers more variety so they are better? idk because I still think Amplitube is better for guitars than Guitar Rig. The stuff I have from both companies compliment each other for me.

From time to time F Major posts here he works for Native Instruments and I have seen a few other reps from companies over time but IK has been more on top of it.

Thanks for the cosigns guys. Really appreciate it, I learned just abut everything on FP and really enjoying giving back.
Sure we have competition, but the sound is what is most important and I am confident enough that if you shoot our stuff out against others you'll HEAR the difference. Try it, we have demos for everything (Besides ARC since you need a specific mic for it) to compare against anything you already have.

I respect that, though I disagree. The thread is on T-Racks Vs XXXX, which is what I was primarily referring to.
