Is fl studio 10 powerful enough to use as the main studio daw? Can it do everything pro tools or cubase can do?

YES!!! You can do EVERYTHING Cubase can on FL Studio 10. Personally, I think FL Studio 9 is the greatest piece of software ever invented. FL 10 has the signature bundle, which takes away some of the instruments you had available. But it's still worth the money!

i love fl easy to use.... and really, not a lot of features you can get elswhere that fl doesnt have, just load up some samples and vsts, and you can do almost everything.

Yup I use Fl Studio for everything except recording. I mean you can do that too but I prefer to record in Pro Tools then import the files into fl studio for mixing. As for beat making all you need is some fire VSTi's and some banging drum kits and your good

There are lots of new features on fl studio 10. some great and some not too great! and i dont mean not too great, i just mean they changed this around and i have to relearn a few things. anyways here my question:

on the playlist, there used to be a arrow that you could slide and it will determine when the song would stop playing. i cant find this sliding arrow anymore. anyone know where its at?

FL Studio does NOT have all of the functionality of the big DAW's (Pro Tools, Cubase).

It's still a good program for beat production or basic recording, and it is great for beginners, but it is NOT as advanced as Cubase or Pro Tools. Do NOT let anybody give you that misconception.

The bottom line is, you can still make great music in FL Studio or any other commercial DAW, but at the expense of certain features.

FL Studio 10 is a complete software music production environment, representing more than 12 years of sustained & focused development.

it is a optim product. it is one of the most complete programs out there.

Can anybody tell me why the DSK string VST keeps crashing in FL Studio 10?

FL Studio 10 . . . Hmmn it's the fastest way from the brain to the speakers : Simply the best !

FLStudio is just as powerful as any other DAW (Logic, Reason, Ableton, etc.). However, a lot of people don't know this because of its reputation; since FLStudio offers a very user-friendly interface, it is much easier to learn with, grow with, and understand on than it is with a lot of other professional DAW programs. Its user-friendly interface is probably what attracted all the turds who pirated it illegally and made all those horrible songs which were then uploaded to the internet in numbers so massive you'd think it was ****ing a smallpox outbreak or some shit. Thanks to them, this is why FLStudio is looked down upon as an amateur, obsolete program.

Don't buy into the propaganda though, folks. The fact still remains the same: the end product is merely a reflection of the artist's overall producing + mixing abilities. If you know how to use FLStudio the right way, then you know how to make a track sound like any other track from any other DAW. It's really a matter of how good the producer is.. because seriously, the program has practically everything you need.

Also, as of right now, FLStudio is releasing more additional features, more new synths, effects, etc on a rate faster than any other product. It has come a really long way and it is looking fan-freakin'-tastic at this very moment.

yes . . but for vocals i think it's better to use pro tools . .

Georgianna and others are correct. There are so many tools that you will never learn them all. I really like the way you can create many new ideas and take your music in many different directions. Frankly, for mixdown to final product I like using SonyAcidPro. Even Sony acid 8 is powerful enough for that final production step, but if you want total flexibility Acid 7, which comes with a version of the Garritan Aria VST pack which is just awesome. FLS is just great for developing ideas on the keyboard or other interfaces, but bringing in audio loops into the final production can be a daunting task at times which is why I prefer acid for that. As others say, learning one DAW is great and important that you learn it. But having two bring options that are task driven can be a nice way to go. The two programs have very different focuses and philosophies. Ideas? FLS. Final production? Acid or other. Good luck and surround our ears with something that is beautiful and tickles them!

there is nothing i can't do in fl that i needed to and usually its less clicks

It can, it's not my preferred software. I started with it but moved on with Logic Pro 8 and never went back.
