Ok, say I load up EWQL Symphonic Orchestra, I want pattern 1 cello and pattern 2 viola. How do i do this in FL? Without cloning the vsti?

i've always just opened up 2 separate vsts(clone). plus when it comes time to mix u'd want both instruments to have their own mixer channel

you can do a couple things as long as the plugin has multi-outputs..
Fruity Wrapper Settings

first thing, open the plugin, and set it to a mixer track (if you set it to 1, make sure mixer channels 2 and 3 are also available since you only want to use the cello and violin) then goto settings..by clicking the number 2 as shown on that picture..looks like a small gear or something..set your output port to what number that isnt being used..

then goto the Processing tab..

Fruity Wrapper Processing

click "auto map ports"

Now go back to your plugin..you might have to set each output for each instrument if its not already set by default..once you figure that out, goto your piano roll...

Piano roll

See number 5...its your color selection. There are 16 colors..meaning in that piano roll, you can have up to 16 outputs..
So, say channel 1 in your plugin is the Cello....the number 1 color will play cello
say channel 2 in your plugin is violin....the number 2 color will play the violin..you get the idea?

Now the reason I told you to set your port number to what ever number is not being used...is for the other way you can do this..

Load up however many Midi Out's in to your sequencer...Where it says "Port"...set it to what ever number you chose in your plugin's port settings.. Where it says "Channel"...choose which channel in your plugin you want it to correspond to...So if you want it to play the Cello (Channel 1), you would put 1....for violin (channel 2), you would put 2...The only thing that should be different amongst the Midi Out's..is the Channel number...All the port numbers should correspond with the port number you gave your plugin.

Its fairly simple to do this, as its really only a couple clicks..May seem confusing, but its simple.

And there are quite a few videos out there that show how to do this..I personally have not seen one for Symphonic Orchestra, but the process for any multi-out plugin is the same.

Go to your SS, double click on your specific sound, assign sound to it's own channel. After assigning your sound to it's own channel you can go to your EQ and mix that sound by its self.
