cubase 5 help please help

i using cubase 5.1 on windows7-64bit. i had no problems so far but i connected a midi keyboard alesis q49. when i record the midi keyboard notes after 2 second the notes dont record it leaves gaps.
can any one help me please

Are you talking baout Latency? So you r press the key, it takes 2 seconds for the midi note info to be recorded? after yuo touched the keys?

If you are check that you have the ASIO drivers selected for the soundcard you are using under the devices menu. Check our buffer setting.

this wat happens i press the record button and i play the midi keyboard but the note recorded are just random plus it leaves gaps like
2sec of notes recording then theres a gap where the note being played are not recorded

I think this has to do with Auto-Quantize Midi notes. You can disable it in the bottom left of the Transport Bar "Auto-Q". Hope that solves your problem..

Goto Devices
Device Set-up
Midi>midi port set-up

tick the box below the main window which says "use system timestamp for windows midi input"

See if that does it.

It might be the other one i dont recall.
