akai s950 disc problem..?

I just got an s950 off ebay but every time i go to save or load from the floppy disc i get the message "oops, bad data from disc" does anyone know if that means the drive itself is screwed? Basically should i be getting a refund?! any help would be much appreciated!

When I bought mine I had the same problem. Assuming you're going by the right procedure and formatting the disks first, get it serviced. It's not always the drive. In my case it was capacitors on the main circuit board. Luckily I bought it from Music Go Round, and they covered the cost of the repair.
