Hi FP world.

I'm new to the art of making beats, so I want to start off slow, but eventually build up. After using FL for a few weeks, everything I made came out kind of generic sounding and "computer like". None of them really flowed.

Is there any other notable (but free) beat making software programs that I can download that may be better? And if not, please give my advise on FL and any other advice you would be willing to share.

post some of the work you've done, im intrested to see what you mean by computer like sound. When i started using fl studio i had no knowledge at all about making beats or any music theory at all. but now i can make a beat pretty easily. theres alot of tutorials out there telling you how to use fruity loops. search for NFX on youtube, he's got some excellent tutorials.
