I'm using cubase sx4 as my daw. I produce hip hop and some down tempo and house music. Drum loops are great to get started on tunes but I find them limiting because you can't develop much beyond the loops. So I use battery mostly for my beats. Battery is great but it takes time to build the kits for each tune i'm working on. I also use my yamaha motif and can always put things together quickly there. The problem is getting the beats from the motif to cubase. I can only go one track. I'm wondering what you other producers are doing that are using synths and mpc's for drums in order to get them into your daw. Do you just get the best mix on the hardware as possible and then record the track into your daw?
