You can kick ass with a FREE digital composer!

Buzz!
Anyone who knows about buzz will say that "The sound sucks" or maybe "LIMITED" and "unstable".
I used to say this untill I learned the trix. When you know how to avoid using buzz's synth-generators AT ALL, you can make music that sounds totally professional. (I've been told by reviews).
You can even make a 24 hour mix if you just take your time to cheet the system.
Listen to the sound:

DjChriss,

I've been trying to learn Buzz since it came out. It's really addictive, but the composition process is soooo slow. Unfortunately, Buzz is the first computer-based composition software i've ever tried to use, and I want to stick with it. Where can i learn all these non-synth tricks? I'd like to become more proficient at Buzz tracking!

-Sam

p.s. Mano, great site!!

p.s. Yes, i've already downloaded *all* of the wav samples from maz-sounds, and tried altering those samples in Sound forge before using them in Buzz, but the jeskola tracker is so limited, it's insane to try and do multiple tracks because you have to create a new track for each possible combination of notes!! :( Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!

In the begining - using buzz

Sorry for the long time.
Let's make a quick start. I'll try to make this do also for those who do not know buzz.
1) Buzz is totally free and offers alot of so called machines, (Generators and effects) wich U set up in any way you want. New free machines are made all the time.
This allows for alot if diversity and, buzz IS actually very flexible. But since it is totally free, you can't expect the smooth sound you get from reality. (or - you CAN, but you gotta learn a few tricks wich is why I'm posting this).

2) This is why you might wanna invest a few bucks in a waveeditor. I've found that the editor that gives you the most for the money is - COOLEDIT 2000.
This cheap program can make up for all the lacks buzz have. I'll get to this in the next post.

For wooozle: Do you have cooledit? Otherwise it is a VERY good investment, believe me, I'm not a salesman for the program but it is GREAT!

Also, I'd like to know wich type of music you want to make with buzz.

I've got alot of tricks for many styles so any other: feel free to post here also.

You can see what sound you can get out of buzz here:

But keep in mind that the version of "Creep" I've up, for now has some poor sampling on the whistle sound due to an accident with my soundcard.
I've bought a new one and expect the sound to be perfecly clear in a few days.
You could also listen to my music just to give me credit for the time I take here, it has taken along time to develop the sound I've got out of buzz.
