I don't actually make beats often, this is more of a once in a blue moon hobby. I was inspired by some "chillhop" piano/sample beats (I don't know what people call them) I seen on youtube and I wanted to try my hand at it.

I've got a rough sketch here of the core sound I ended up laying down based on an idea I had in my head. Maybe I'm just insecure but be honest, does this sound like one of those old "porno" songs? I know I want a bass that sounds like this but at the same time I feel that's where that sound is coming from.

It sounds fine; in the R&B or smooth-jazz bag. TBH, the opening chords led me to believe that the tempo would be much faster, more like an old school East Coast Hip-Hop groove. You might want to experiment with that as well.

Thank you for the input, I'm certainly open to trying different things.
