Bad techno is everywhere. Good techno is rare but pleasureable.

i'd start real simple and take a traditionl 3min 30 pop/rock/hip hop tune and double the length of it.so 3mins 30 becomes 6-7 mins, depending on the tempo and any tweaks you make.

i.e
32 verse
16 chorus
32 verse
16 chorus
16 middle / breakdown
32 chorus

as with most song structures, create a solid foundation and a good groove, and just layer the bad boy, making sure it's at it'a most intense during the end section. if it were me doing it, i'd make subtle changes to each section, so it's not like its repeating it'self endlessly. layer more drums, even if it's something subtle like a ride cymbal picking up the beat, some bleeps, try different reverbs and delays on different sections. especially if you've got vocals or vocal samples.
