bandcoach, I thought it may work out when I have posted it in the "Theory, Composing ..." forum, since it is quite about rhythm (with the drums and the melodies).
it is about more than rhythm though as every track is going to tell a story that means something to you, for that you need to have a love of the music you are sampling from for it to ultimately have any impact on the listeners at the end of the day
I just wanted clarify something. I thought about this. lol It is not necessarily about what I like. Think of music theory. I was looking for suggestions where one could be able to tell that by the rhythm and melodies and by music theory it is a step away from having it replayed into trap music. This how I have had meant it with this thread. I am not looking to correct you guys. I used to do music and am looking to pick up on this again. It is cool to discuss with you guys. I have been glad that this forum is still around. A cool place to come back again.
thing is you would need to find stuff that emphasises the iii-IV(-I) movement (or if you prefer i-bII(-bVI) in the phrygian mode) - I say this because my analysis of trap a few years back led to the conclusion that most trap used that progression
