A question....and seeking critique

'ello, all.

im fairly new here, so im not sure what type of responce i'll get to this question. I am a dj that specializes in composing experimental electronica (ie merging genres, etc) anyway, i was wondering if any of you know of a good genre info source for techno music- containing, for instance, a breakdown of styles, common drum patterns, bpm's, etc. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have a number of songs availible at mp3.com- if you have time, please take a listen to and critique my newest song, Hoy en Día at http://www.mp3.com/pcv9 .

ok! thanks!

Welcome to the family! :D

I myself compose some hard-to-define music so I completely understand you. I don't have a link handy that explains all this clearly. For now, try to check some links in the music portal: http://www.onlinedj.com/general/portal/pages maybe you'll get some info there.

Actually..
this is a great idea for a future article. It is written on the TO-DO list now! Give it some time though, it has to be written first ;)

Until this article is published, feel free to post any question on the boards, and meet the other regular members. tip: the "everyday chat" forum is where to go to post any kind of topics (life, fun, etc..).

Have fun, see you around!

Checked out your sh*t...

Hey man props on your song. I think it had a really good base to it, but personally I like more of a build up and break. Don't take it the wrong way... it kicked ***, but I think you shold add some "whispy" effects in the middle leading to a build up - your song, as does the title, gives me a more fantasy feel and I think some interesting effects would add to that. Like I said before more build would be nice too. This is just my humble oppinion and I do think the track is cool!

Hope this helps...
