Well one thing I do when arranging is get all the hard stuff out o the way first. I tend to do this when I arrange music for marching bands on Finale. But I like to get all my chords and different patterns set up and formatted in a 12 to 16 bar verse along with an 8 bar chorus. Afterwards, I drop all of my drum patterns. I guess the most difficult thing though is choosing the instruments I want rather than the arrangement itself

Advice I give to anyone: Break down the songs you listen to and take notes of how they do it right down to the bars and beats
