high bass help

can anyone tell me what that "high pitched bass" sound is and how to make it with massive (synth)? i keep hearing it through out a lot of claasic westcoast hip hop and i wonna use it in a track im gonna make.

any help will be highly appreciated :)

Dude, I hate to break it to you but that is a real bass guitar being played by a real bass player. It sounds like it is a fretless or at least has very low frets as it the slides are smooth and luscious. add some flanging to a bass, play it from the 10th fret up and you start to get the sound. Add years of hard practice and learning theory/knowledge and you start to get the talent to do this.

yeah, i think there has to be a way of making a sound similar with a synth. but yea at least i know now how the sound was made in the first place gives me an idea on how to replicate it.
its either that or i start practising with a bass guitar now :D
