Pads, Synth pads, you can find some in SampleTank FREE and also learn to use EQ's and filters to help achieve these sounds. Low pass/high pass filters can be key.

BIG Synths would = Sylenth, Razor (for Reaktor), Massive is ok but not near as bright as Sylenth or Razor.

Some others off the top of my head are The Beast (FM Synth), Nexus ain't bad but not like Sylenth which is granular i believe.

BIG sound can be had from all those i listed...

That particular sound can be created in almost any synth but Hypersonic 2 has it as the "gangsta whine" if you dont wanna make it lol.
