Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) of Trance Music

Take an above average Trance song. Say I take the first bar of music after the final break of a song (the first bar with all (most) instruments "playing") and calc the FFT of it (work out an estimate of the spectrum amplitude over all freq's). Would it be flat? Will every instrument in the song fill it's respective frequency range:

Kickdrum 20 -> 500Hz,
Bass 20->300Hz,
Synth 500 -> 3500Hz,
Hats ±10kHz,
Closed Hats ±15Hz
etc. etc. or whatever

and the final product be a piece of music with flat or near flat spectral ampltudes over most of the audible range (±20-20k Hz). Would this result be any indication of the production quality of the song (the technical aspects not subjective musical interpretations)??
Lemme know what u think... (or test)

It shouldn't be flat... even ideally when every instrument is triggered at the same time. It would curve downward at higher frequencies since higher frequencies are perceived to be louder. if you think about it, the higher the frequency, the more cycles of the same waveform are being iterated per second, the more pressure variations are being exerted on your eardrums.... it it also has to do with the frequencies our brains have adjusted to pay attention to.

A good production is one that sounds good.... it's that simple, although what is good is completely objective.

Our ears are most sensitive to frequencies around 1000 - 5000 Hz... that means that we are able to hear sounds of that frequency at a lower intensity level than a sound at 20 Hz. That's just the way our ears work... If you wan't to hear a bass sound you're gonna have to pump it to a higher intensity level to hear it at the same volume as the 5000 Hz sound.

Don't make all frequencies the same intensity... you may want to hear them all at the same volume, but nothing can measure volume except for your ears.

Just to clarify, intensity is defined as power over area.
Perceived volume depends on your auditory nerve in your ear. At higher frequencies of the same intensity, you'll hear the higher stuff louder.

So, just do what sounds right...

Surely there is better things to do with your time ... like hanging in the park , watching girls pass by.
