Do You Prefer Sample Based or Composed Non-Sample Based Beats?

like do you guys prefer to make Madlib/Dilla type heavy sampled beats or do you prefer to mainly base your instrumental off original composition
 
I've seen what madlib can do and that is dope but I personally like to make my own beats, dont like using other people's samples.
