Hi Guys,

OK so I am a beginner to all this but this problem is driving me crazy and i cant think of the answer/solution so I am desperate for someone to help.

I've chopped up a four bar loop on beat and want to make a melody out of it. Now ive managed to pull together something that sounds nice but its only 7 chops/samples over 2 bars but obviously those 7 chops/beats dont fill the whole 2 bars as its like a beat short what do i do?????

Please note I have these chops in a sampler and I'm playing the 7 hits via a midi keyboard rather than placing 7 chopped audio files.

Please help,

Many Thanks,

Matt

Well, you can try to be unique/different and make it loop after the 7th beat. OR, if you going for a more popular sound, then find that eighth beat your missing!! (that might just mean playing the same one twice).

The notes will still hit on beats 1, 2 3 and 4 in bar 1 and on beats 1, 2 and 3 in bar 2 - changing the tempo only changes where they sit in real-time not musical time.....

Start time of each beat depending on tempo

Or do like Jay z's song " new york" and repeat the first note a few times rhythmically to make up for missing beats.. Can also do it with the last beat in your melody loop
