The 6 bar loop

Hello all, this is my first post. Great to be here

One thing I want to talk about is the 6 bar loop. You may or may not have experienced creating a loop and it not measuring to the regular 4/8 bars. It ends up looping in 3/6 which in turn makes the drum kit very different. What is also strange is that when you stretch the loop it turns into 12 bars which is an increment of 4. I wanted to get some insight from others on this. Would love to hear some too, and will share one of mine.

Thanks,

Looks like a more intricate 4 bar

In other words, Once you lengthen the 6 bar loop to 12 bars, it can sound like a nice tune, but 3 or 4 different 4 bars looping together is what I discern in lots of the music I hear. thus A really intricate track \\
That's my insight into your comment about 12 bars being an increment of 4. 12 bars can be 2 6s or 3 4s.
I think I'll stick to the 4 bar loop on my beats for the time being :p
