Is Wood Alright For A Monitor Stand?

I got my monitors a couple days ago (JBL LSR4328) and did not anticipate that these would be to big to put on my desk. I'm lookin for a cheap solution for stands. I searched and saw where many people make wood monitor stands. I have some wood tv tables that I was wanting to use along with the MoPads I bought when I got my speakers. Would this be an Ok solution for stands?

Should be, as long as their sturdy.

I have wooden stands...they work well with my Samson's, mind you they are only have 5 inch drivers...but I still have plenty of stand left and they probably would be more than suitable for 8 inch speakers like you have.

The biggest thing is to make sure the base is heavy, because if not, they will fall over.
