my dream studio is:
ssl 9000 j series mixing console with the sl 959j 8-channel monitoring system with 5.1,
yamaha ms10 nearfeild monitors(already got them)
2 studers(24 track 2 inch tape recorder)
Digidesign mix plus system with pro controll

:D

powerbook g4, multiple 828's, pci expander for laptop to put in dsp cards to run TDM's (esp Virus), and an old crusty soundcraft mixer. And some mikes: AKG C414's, C451's, D112, SM57's and a C12VR. and some stands. And a firewire RAID system. And a red pool table, and a swimming pool, and a cocacola machine that gives you drinks for free, and a butler, and a boot polishing machine. and a halfpipe. all underground in a nuclear bomb shelter, with a woman that comes and drops food down a chute. Oh, and a kebab shop. How could you live without kebabs, and a wall of amps that would be cool, and a cricketbat and stuff youcan smash and a room full of naked bisexual females for inspiration and a beer tap in the kitchen, and all the Opera CD's in the world... I could go on but I'll spare you all, to get back to my evil plans of <cackle>WORLD domination</cackle>

Marek, you just described a load of the big studios - apart from the boot-polishing machine:D

Oh and you have to supply your own bi-sexual females, but it's amazing what a bit of success in the music biz can do for your level of attractiveness;)

I did some reading up last night of some setups that I'd like to emulate: Add this to my last setup

Johnson Millineium Amp
Shure KSM 44 Mic
Gibson Les Paul Santana

Fender Jazz Bass
Carvin 700 Watt Combo
A nice TUBE bass amp

Yamaha DTXTREME Electronic Drums
Various Sabian Cymbals
With Earthworks/SM-91's To Mic Them

Hammond A100 Organ
Korg Triton Maxxed Out

Roland VS-2480 with monitor, all that good stuff.. If the VS-2480 can be linked to a MACKIE HDR 96, than that would be great too.

I think the live insturmentation would fit all the ethnic samples quite well

My dreamsetup... not the fantasy version.. this is the setup i'm thinking of when i'm expanding

Mac & PC (don't ask why both.. there are many reasons)
Creamware pulsar 2
1 or 2 adat<->ana converters
Korg MS2000r
Nord Lead (thinking of swapping this to a nice waldorf with a better klav since i can get the exact sounds from my modular)
Clavia nord modular klav expanded
Clavia nord modular rack expanded
A nice sampler.. S5000, Z4/8 or one of the bigger E-MUs (i'm not the sampler-kind of guy.. so i'm not sure :) Maybe even better.. a GOOD software sampler?
Sherman filterbank 2 or Akai MFC42 (hasn't tested the MFC42.. so i'm still not sure)
2 x Line6 DM4
Roland JV2080 expanded
A 2x2 and a 8x8 midiinterface
Logic audio
A better mic.. and a new mic preamp
New homebuilt speakers by my soundgenious brother
A nice couple of Beyerdynamics headphones
Only one _small_ (like.. 8 channels) digital external mixer.. i hate using more than one :

Did i miss something? Yeah.. my guitar ;)

cheers!
