The G5 has PCI-X slots which are different from the "normal" PCI slots and I have wondered which internal soundcards are compatible with the G5. Can anybody help me to find some information on these compatible soundcards?

PCI-X is backward compatible with PCI 2.0 so you should be able to use anything you can get drivers for. I cant wait to get a PCI-X machine so I can use all my high speed PCI cards.

M-Audio is revamping their whole line to 3.3v PCI cards (The PowerMac G5 has 3.3v slots only, which is the real issue, not the fact that they are PCI-X, the PowerMac G4 supported 3.3v and 5.5v cards)

and then there's always firewire interfaces.

Damn, thats no good. Are the other PCI-X roll outs (from intel and via) going to be 3.3V aswell?

I bought a MOTU 2408 mkIII for my G5 and the PCI-424 card that comes with it didn't fit. I had to send the card to MOTU and they sent me a G5 compatible PCI card.
